And Back Into Mississippi Again - No Kidding

From Janie:

Thursday, November 1.  From Hammond, Louisiana to Wiggins, Mississippi.

89 miles for Jody.  21 for me in about an hour and 45 minutes.  Slower day for both of us.

Jody, riding down the hotel hallway last night, in Hammond LA,

A foggy morning in Wiggins, Mississippi,
where we stayed in a Worst Western Hotel.
(The sign says "Best Western".  It wasn't.)

Jody and Nicole, in the Mississippi sunshine.

Rural Mississippi.
The cows were very attentive to the warbling of the Garmins.

The roads were narrow where we went by, so we didn't get pictures of the Wildlife Refuge with its exotic deer and antelope, emus, and its big herd of zebras.

Nicole, taking photos.

Jody, on the road in Mississippi.

Strange over-sized loads.  There were four of these altogether.

A stop sign, after the birdshot.

Not on this day, but there have been days I've heard rifle shots off in the woods, away from the road.  I'm with Dashiell Hammett on this.

It's sometimes better to pretend I don't hear the sound of somebody in the nearby woods with a shotgun.
