Head North, Young Man

From Janie:

(The third of three posts going up tonight.)

Saturday, November 10.  Brunswick GA to Savannah GA.  Our penultimate route.  22 miles for me.  72 for Jody.  We rode on a highway paralleling the Interestate for most of the day.  Not a lot of traffic for most of the day.

Jody, up the road, as we left Brunswick.

Gotta love the signs in the South.

Jody, swinging onto the state highway.

Janie, on the bridge with The Little Darkness.

Egret, on the far bank.

Egret in flight.

Watchful egret, above the nest.

Janie, on the road.  Coming in for a water refill.

This is the canine that did not chase Janie today!

Spanish moss, draped on the handlebars of Janie's bike.

Spanish moss, and very beat up handlebar tape.

Jody, rapidly approaching Savannah.

We arrived in Savannah mid-afternoon.  Jody showered and went for a beer, while Nicole and I went to the bike shop to ship her bike home and to pick up new handlebar tape for my bike.  Sadly, Nicole will leave us tomorrow, after our last route.  We'll certainly miss her.

More, tomorrow, when we hit the beach at Hilton Head, and dip our front wheels in the Atlantic.

The barking of a dog does not disturb the man on a camel.
