A post out of order, and the second of two today.
From Wednesday, October 17, from Festus to Cape Girardeau:
It was a very windy day. Mostly cross winds from the south south west. I rode off and on through the day, but mostly early as rain followed by strong thunderstorms was predicted for the day. Jody rode the entire 91 miles.
Jody, riding out of Festus.
Fall in Missouri
Jody, riding toward Cape Girardeau.
Jody, climbing yet another hill. On yet another windy day.
Janie, climbing in the wind.
Janie, riding away from The Little Darkness, toward Cape Girardeau.
In Cape Girardeau, we showered then went to have dinner with our friend Gene Marner. Met his older daughter Sue. Had a wonderful time. Sat out most of the tornado watch in the restaurant, as rain poured down. It was still spitting when we took Gene back home. We were very grateful that it fell at night, and not on us one the road.
Hard to believe, but we've only had rain on the road one day so far this entire trip. We've had rain on rest days, but haven't seen rain on a riding day since the ride from Moapa Valley to Mesquite NV.
Into each life some rain must fall.
